Let us love, not in word or speech, but in truth and action ~ 1John 3:18
In 2002, survivors of clergy sexual abuse and their supporters began working together. Over the subsequent three years we became exceedingly aware of the complexity of the problems.
By late 2005, we were all involved with many different groups: Voice of the Faithful (VOTF), Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests (SNAP), Stones of Silence (Los Angeles supporters group), Survivors of Silence (Los Angeles Survivors group) and Call to Action (CTA).
A Coalition for Truth seeks to unite all who share a common passion to openly and actively seek the truth and work for justice for all survivors of clerical sexual abuse.
A Coalition for Truth--ACT, with united energies and passion, seeks truth, justice and healing. To those who pray about the crisis in the Church, prayer without ACTION is simply not enough. Let us love, not in word or speech, but in truth and action ~ 1 John 3:18
~ We are people who ask and seek the truth about what some refer to as the sexual abuse crisis of the Catholic Church
~ We actively and publicly support the survivors of sexual abuse
~ We actively and publicly challenge the structures in which this abuse continues to flourish
~ We believe the sexual abuse crisis evolved from a clerical culture of deceit and secrecy
~ We know the scandals are about the cover up of crimes by members of the Church hierarchy in the United States, throughout the world -- and yes, reaching all the way to the Vatican
~ We believe that the hierarchy cannot solve this problem without leadership from the people
